Moving orders through statuses
At SalesRender, we understand how crucial it is to keep every stage of your sales funnel under control. That’s why our CRM has a special mechanism — order movement rules, which help you build clear and protected business processes.
Order movement rules are a unique type of validation in SalesRender. They restrict how orders move between statuses and prevent managers from accidentally or intentionally "breaking" your funnel.
How it works
- You set up strict rules that define from which statuses an order can move into another.
- If an agent or manager tries to move an order where it's not allowed — the system simply won’t permit it.
Why you need it
- Avoid chaos. Without these rules, your funnel can be "broken" by incorrect moves — orders could jump between statuses ignoring your logic.
- Ensure data quality. Your reports and analytics remain precise because the funnel structure stays intact.
How to configure it
Here’s what the settings page looks like. It’s quite simple, but important to understand correctly.
To quickly grasp the setup, start with the list in the middle.
Here, you sequentially select each status and set up rules with the columns on the left and right. Let’s start with the status “Processing.”
The left column lists the statuses FROM which an order can move INTO “Processing” (selected in the middle).
The right column lists the statuses TO which an order can move FROM “Processing” (selected in the middle).
Take note that in the middle you can also select “New Order.” This is so you can configure into which status new orders can be created. When you choose “New Order,” you only configure the right column — meaning where a new order can go. There’s no need to set up which statuses it can come from, since it’s new.
Just a couple of minutes of configuration — and you’ll have a powerful control tool at your disposal!
